Maintenance Work Management in the Digital Age; What is the Future M&R Worker to Do?
Bob DiStefano, PCA’s Chief Operations Officer (COO), is a life-long maintenance and reliability professional expert and seasoned executive manager with 42 years of experience. Holding degrees in both Management and Engineering, he began his career in the US commercial nuclear power industry where the consequences of equipment failure were unacceptable, and his best practices of maintenance and operations were honed over 10 years.
Bob then founded Management Resources Group, Inc. (MRG), a professional engineering consulting firm specializing in equipment reliability best practices. As the company’s CEO for more than 29 years, Bob led MRG in providing services to hundreds of industrial plants worldwide, spanning 14 industries and serving a large percentage of Fortune 500 industrial companies.
Bob comes out of retirement to join PCA. He has been an active member of the non-profit Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP), as MRG was an original member and strategic sponsor. In fact, Bob was one of the earliest Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (CMRP).
Over the years, Bob has volunteered as a board member for SMRP, holding the title “Director of the Body of Knowledge Directorate”. Within this role, he led three separate committees: Best Practices, Benchmarking, and Knowledge. The benchmarks he created are still used today worldwide.
Bob is also a published author and keynote speaker. MRG was sold to a Fortune 500 company – a true testament to the successful work he put into his practice, and the leadership he brings to PCA.
