William J. Goetz

Vice President of Corporate Development

Will Goetz, Vice President of Corporate Development, oversees the company’s marketing efforts and works with the executive team to plan and implement strategy. He brings to the role industrial solution architecture skills, deep operational expertise, extensive domain knowledge and strong quantitative analytical skills.

Prior to joining PCA, Goetz served as Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Digital Transformation and Vice President of Marketing at Emerson Automation Solutions, where he led the development of a digital transformation consulting practice focused on process manufacturing (Life Sciences, Food & Beverage and Specialty Chemicals). While establishing the company as a thought leader, Goetz managed the practice team and directly engaged with client executives in solution design. His digital transformation engagements included such industry leaders as Amgen, Celanese and Ensco. In addition, Goetz created the Jumpstart methodology, an analytics-led approach to digitally transforming client operations.

Before his stint at Emerson, Goetz served as Chief Marketing Officer of Management Resources Group (MRG). In that capacity, he created the company’s go-to-market strategy relative to enterprise-level consulting and promoted compelling value propositions for asset reliability. In addition to forging strategic alliances, Goetz established royalty-based licensing agreements with industry leaders General Electric and Flowserve. His integrated sales, marketing and alliances organization produced $17m in revenue growth. Following the sale of MRG to Emerson Automation Solutions, Goetz led the integration of Emerson’s global sales organization and business partner networks.

An alumnus of the University of Massachusetts, Goetz holds a BA in Economics and a MS in Quantitative Methods.

Throughout his career, Goetz has applied his proven digital transformation and operational expertise, accumulating more than 30 years’ experience, to create competitive advantage for his clients. A strong voice of the customer advocate, Goetz consistently focuses on discovering innovative ways to help customers manage business and competitive challenges. He created JumpStart methodology, an analytics-led approach, to accelerate his clients’ digital transformations using pilot projects to provide business justification for IIoT investments.

“Goetz’s experience building reliability consulting businesses at MRG and Emerson is a great asset for us,” said PCA President and CEO Dick DeFazio. “His expertise in digital transformation is a welcome addition to our deep bench of proven reliability professionals with extensive strategic and operational knowledge.”

A recognized thought leader in digital transformation, Goetz has been a featured speaker during “Guiding Principles for Digital Transformation” at Control, Live from Emerson Global Users Exchange. In addition, he served as a key presenter during an industry webinar, “Navigating Your Digital Transformation: Guiding Principles Required to Reach Your Destination.” Goetz has published expert commentary in an array of leading vertical market publications such as Chemical Processing, Pharmaceutical Technology and Plant Engineering. His articles featured thought-provoking concepts as how companies can jumpstart their digital transformation; improving production by tightening collaboration among IT, OT and Quality; and how companies can implement prescriptive maintenance to pave the way for IIoT.

“While IIoT and digital transformation make headlines today, culture change has always been the most pervasive and challenging obstacle to reliability performance improvement,” Goetz explained. “I believe PCA has the leadership skills and experience to help clients achieve sustainable improvements in reliability, resulting in increased safety and availability and lower maintenance costs.”
